I thought muffler connector size was different between Gen 1 and Gen 2. This is interesting.

If you are talking about the size of the midpipe, i know that was changed between 06-07 and 08-11. IDK if it changed between 11 and 12-14.

As far as my experience has been that the gen 1 exhaust fits on all models except 2012 onwards. The headers are slightly to short at the bottom and it touches the front of the oil pan. However you can fit 2012 full system on the gen 1 without a problem. Haven't tried the canisters to see if they line up with the mountings on the pegs though.

Untamed makes a good point. My Yosh exhaust is spec'd for Gen 1 and 2s, but definitely fits a Gen 2 perfectly. So it must actually be designed for Gen 2s, which as Untamed is saying will also fit a Gen 1. Also I have read where people put Yosh (and some others) Gen 1 exhaust on Gen 2 and had some clearence issues but just kind of made it work. For example one person shaved their body work because it actually melted making contact with the pipes. I had none of these issues.

Gen 1 headers are 37mm thick on the down pipes coming from the motor, 2012 is slightly thicker at around 40mm. Where it connects to the motor however is the same. The collector is also slightly different. The mid pipe connection is the same diameter on both generations at 54mm. This is obviously on stock exhaust systems. Aftermarket could be different.
